i do.

in these bodies we will live, in these bodies we will die
where you invest your love, you invest your life
-mumford & sons

today the future king & queen of england got married. i was very excited & curious as to what she was going to wear. i must say that i love the dress. it's very classy and simple, but perhaps a little too simple. nothing about her screamed royalty. and i understand that she's a plain girl, but i thought that she needed a little more oomph, whether it was in her veil or her train or even her bouquet. however, i must stress that i do love this dress.

check out some of the swag their fans have created.

chasing pavements.

should i give up or should i just keep chasing pavements
even if it leads nowhere
-adele

let's just say that this puts sidewalk drawings on a whole other level. meet edgar mueller. he's like the picasso of sidewalk art. truly unbelievable. each drawing gets more and more outrageous. i can't even imagine what it takes to complete a work like this.

i was introduced to mueller's art through jeff bridges, who has an amazing website you can check out here. i've always been a fan of jeff bridges work. i mean, he is "the dude." his website just solidifies that name.

light my fire.

you know that it would be untrue
you know that i would be a liar
if i was to say to you
girl, we couldn't get much higher
come on baby, light my fire

i love mixing old with new, clean with dirty, contemporary with rustic, modern with traditional, and so on. i really enjoy a clean, white kitchen with some old wood pieces thrown in. i'm working on a client's kitchen and have been fixated on putting an old rustic lantern over the kitchen island. here's some photos that have been inspiring my design.

another designers palette.

whether the project is new construction, a remodel, or an existing space, sloane bari’s designs create a soft, classic home. her designs have spanned all over new york, including many iconic spaces in manhattan, as well as homes in the hamptons. here's a manhattan apartment she's been working on.

one side of the foyer sits this piece with the sunburst mirror and pink orchid

the other side of the foyer has a southwestern fabric bench with this pop of art above it

books i've met and liked.

these are fun notebooks/ journals. great for gifts. makes for a good laugh too when giving fun titles like, "shrinks i've met and liked" or "lies i've told and liked." i always walk around with my lime green "designers i've met and liked." they're available at just 4 the home.

you know i read it in a magazine.

say, candy and ronnie, have you seen them yet
oh, but they're so spaced out, be be bennie and the jets
oh, but they're weird and they're wonderful
oh, bennie she's really keen
she's got electric boots, a mohair suit
you know i read it in a magazine, oh
be be bennie and the jets

when i paint my masterpiece.

oh, the streets of rome are filled with rubble
ancient footprints are everywhere
you can almost think that you're seein' double
on a cold, dark night on the spanish stairs
got to hurry on back to my hotel room
where i've got me a date with botticelli's niece
she promised that she'd be right there with me
when i paint my masterpiece
-bob dylan

i'm working with a new client on the upper west side. when i visited the apartment building i saw a few staged apartments. these apartments had great wall space and i really took to the artwork.

while mentioning art, i must mention one of my favorite places to go to for an awesome piece. [art] addiction is great for adding a pop of color to a room, or even if you want to keep a room soft. they do all different scenes, but their botanicals are my favorite.
