it's been quite a while since my last post. between the highpoint show, design jobs, and some other matters, i've been a busy bee. apologies to my readers. so without further ado... here's a little music for you.

and now onto some design inspiration... i was at the highpoint show last week and found some phenomenal items. the most popular color, by far, was blue. some showrooms focused on a navy blue story, while others incorporated all tones of blue. but no matter where i went, blue was definitely trending.  from the paint color on the walls to upholstery to artwork.

a 9 year old boy named caine built an awesome arcade made entirely out of cardboard. his arcade sits in front of his father's used auto parts store. not only does this story make you smile, but it warms your heart. for your viewing pleasure, caine's arcade.

it's friday afternoon and i need a drink. a cold beer, a chilled glass of wine, or even a nice jack and coke. the after work drink is not only necessary, but more enjoyable than a drink any other day of the week. it's fun to go out and mingle, but sometimes it's nice to go home, take your shoes off and pour yourself a stiff one. bar carts are showing up everywhere, especially with summer coming. there's something very distinguished about a stocked bar cart. i guess it's my association to the mad men 60s era where they invested a lot of time around the office bar cart.

french connection has launched a new home line, including products like bedding, light fixtures, accent furniture & ceramic decor. it's very beachy, maintaining a certain natural looking aesthetic. the pieces will be available to the public via their website this month. some stores will showcase the pieces.

selah sue. the name just rolls off the tongue. and her voice swims through your ears. originally from belgium, selah is a soulful singer with impressionable sounds from her idols, bob marley & erykah badu. in just a short amount of time, selah sue has become a familiar name in the music industry. as her bio states, "cee-lo green agress to accompany her on a duet and ends up asking her to put the track 'please' on his own album... and last autumn prince offered her a coveted support slot at his show in antwerp belgium."
