it's been a whole year since i left LA. as quickly as the 12 months have flown, it still feels like i've lived a few different lives this past year. i drove across the country, i lived in 2 different homes, i changed careers, i changed careers again, and i became a new yorker (again). but as good as it feels to represent the east side, there's a part of me that is and always will remain on the west side. beach town, surf culture, brightly colored wayfarers, and sunkissed skin. so as biggie says, "i'm going, going, back, back, to cali, cali." for labor day weekend i'll be pacific ocean adjacent. venice beach, here i come.
aside from my friends and the weather, there are a few things i am so excited for... palm trees, venice beach beer garden, itzakaya, boardwalk bike rides, coffee bean iced coffee, fairfax flea market, melrose vintage shopping, and james beach, made famous by 'i love you man.'
