when in rome... or cabo.

i got my toes in the water
ass in the sand
not a worry in the world
a cold beer in my hand
life is good today
-zac brown band

i can't seem to shake my mexican adventure. perhaps when my tan fades, so will my desire for those cabo sunsets. but until then, i will continue to be inspired by the mexican culture. their interiors are bright and breezy. color, color, color. using elements from the blue and green sea to the orange and yellow sand. tiles, terracotta, porcelain, sculptures, rattan.

me encanta cabo san lucas.

there's a sleepy town, lies south of the border
you go there once, you'l be there twice
-van halen

warm days and chilly nights. encompassing mountains and sprawling desert land. salty ocean air and a shot of the tastiest tequila. oh cabo, mother nature has never looked this good. i can't say it enough, me encanta cabo.

i had the pleasure of dining at pedregal's newest hotel, capella. what a magnificent hotel with an even more extraordinary location. built into the mountain, the hotel dramatically greets you with an excavated tunnel, lit with suspended lanterns. from there, you are welcomed into world unto its own.

all my bags are packed.

so don't worry with your suitcase, dear
-joe purdy

the little ones are on winter break. colleges are closed. and adults can rejoice in their holiday time off. where to go? a little ski vacation or a tropical getaway? perhaps you travel home for the holidays. whatever your plans may be, get a little inspired by these suitcase installations. as you can see, you can do a bit more with your luggage than pay $25 to check it at the airport.

all i want for christmas...

well, i got my two front teeth years ago, so check that off the list. and it doesn't look like there will be peace on earth anytime soon. so aside from love, laughter & family, there are just a few things on my list to santa this holiday season.

the first is obviously bravo's andy cohen. but that may not work out so well for me so i'll go with tickets to see watch what happens live [which will be live 5 nights a week, starting in january].

by the way, my apartment is modeled after the bravo clubhouse.
masculine dark woods with splashes of neon excitement.

i'll be taking some visual design courses at the school of visual arts and i'm having such a hard time limiting myself to just a few. but tuition comes into play so maybe a loved one can get me a sva gift card.

the rest of the list are just a few material items i've had my eye on.

i'm a lover of all coffee table books. one of the best gifts i ever received was right before i moved to
los angeles to work in entertainment, my friend bought me four books on television & film.

livin in beverly hills.

i wanna live a life like that
i wanna be just like a king
take my picture by the pool
'cause i'm the next big thing
-weezer

an unoccupied mansion in beverly hills... brings tears to my eyes. but what better way to make use of its vacancy than by showcasing interior designers' works of art in each of the rooms. veranda magazine presented its 3rd show house at the 1920s residence that is usually closed to the public.

they call me mellow yellow?

not so mellow, huh? to put it simply, this bathroom is intensely striking (in a very good way). the thin black contemporary moulding that frames each wall adds to this bathroom's contemporary parisian style. the claw foot bathtub was painted black, but maintains a frame to itself with the white porcelain interior and claw feet. i also love the idea of framing a photo of fabric that is the same color as the paint on the wall. this may only work with bold colors. and tell me the footstool isn't the most precious added detail.
